REGISTRATION
As more Naturopaths become registered, there is greater recognition of our professionalism and competency.
NZSN are educating the public to become aware that a competent Naturopath is a Registered Naturopath.
When you become a Registered Naturopath with NZSN, you will have had to prove that: -
You have gained a level 6 or higher diploma in Naturopathy.
You work within the Code of Ethics and Rules of Practice of the NZ Society of Naturopaths
You have been accepted as a qualified competent Professional.
To retain full registration you need to renew it every year proving that you are: -
Continuing to practice to an acceptable level.
Participating in ongoing education in the field of Naturopathy.
Attending local/national member meetings and/or conferences to improve the value of the service you give to your clients.
Prepared to assist in the teaching/mentoring of new or student members.
It is important that your patients can see a Registration Certificate displayed in your workplace that defines you as a Qualified Registered Naturopath with NZ Society of Naturopaths.

Q. What are the requirements to apply for membership of the New Zealand Society of Naturopaths?
A. Applicants who wish to become members of the New Zealand Society of Naturopaths must be New Zealand residents. Those who have graduated as a Naturopath at the following New Zealand institutions automatically meet the academic requirements for membership:
South Pacific College of Natural Therapies
Naturopathic College of New Zealand Ltd
Wellpark College of Natural Therapies
Lotus Holistic Centre Ltd
Naturopathic graduates from other colleges, including overseas practitioners, will need to show proof that they have completed a diploma or degree in Naturopathy when they apply.
International Applicants
If your naturopathic qualification is acceptable with NZQA and you are residing and setting up practise in New Zealand you may apply to become a full member of NZSN.
You are encouraged to contact NZQA for verification of overseas qualifications.

Government Recognition
Legislation and policies relating to the regulation of natural health practitioners are currently under development in New Zealand.

Your professional register is the New Zealand Society of Naturopaths Inc. (NZSN).
Membership
We have six levels of membership:
Full Member - Weblisting Optional
Professional member with level6 or more, diploma in Naturopathy.
Associate Member - No Weblisting
Professional member of another similar association or member residing overseas.
New Graduate Member - Weblisting Optional
First year or part thereof after graduation is at student fee
Student Member - No Weblisting
Student studying for a level 6 or above diploma in Naturopathy
Unwaged Member - No Weblisting
Currently Not Employed
Affiliate Member - No Weblisting
Association holding an interest in Naturopathy and NZSN
