Society of Naturopaths Inc. was established in 1989 in response to a growth in interest in the natural health profession.

The Society aims to:
Ensure Naturopathy is visible and accessible for all New Zealanders.
Provide the public with a resource of qualified and professional members.
Promote naturopaths, and be recognised as valuable partners in the health care system.

Only accepting members who meet our high standards of education and have qualified through accredited colleges.
By having a Code of Ethics and Rules of Practice to ensure professionalism is maintained.

Providing members with a network that includes relevant resources and services, public relations, professional and continuing education opportunities, member meetings which contribute to continuing education, a highly professional website, and positive leadership for the promotion and advancement of the profession.
Comprehensive liability insurance for our members.
Fostering a relationship with Southern Cross Healthcare meaning that Southern Cross beneficiaries (on the Wellbeing plan) can claim back consultations costs (to a maximum of $400 per year) with Naturopaths registered with the NZSN.
Facilitating relations with other organisations in the Natural Health Industry.
Our Aims are to provide support and opportunities now and in the future, for our members.
NZSN aim to investigate registration and regulation at a government level for the modality of naturopathy.
NZSN aim to encourage further education of members within the profession of naturopathy.

Our Members are qualified Naturopaths and students of Naturopathy studying for a Level 6 Diploma or higher.
NZSN hold and maintain the largest register of qualified naturopaths in New Zealand.
We accept full members, unwaged members, associate members, new grads, and student members who meet our criteria.

Naturopathic Liability Package
A joint initiative is in place between NZSN and TIB to offer a Liability Insurance Package to members of the Society.
This package is comprehensive and covers any perceived risks of exposure to the Naturopaths.

In the Members of NZ Society of Naturopaths Section of this site, we have a Forum where members of NZSN from throughout New Zealand can meet and discuss case histories, difficult cases, swap recipes, meet other members, access resources, and keep up to date on what is happening within our profession.
*Every issue of our Newsletter is posted on the Forum. Current re-enrolment form is on the NZSN NZSN Members Only main page.
We also have a chatroom where members may have meetings or/and interact together in real time.
The library and archives section on the members page contains past newsletters and feedback forms as well as minutes of meetings of other health professional organisations that may be of interest.

We also have meetings every second month free to our members where we have a guest speaker and participate in some lively discussions and socialising, and where members can obtain a certificate for 4 Continuing Education points.
